GEAR UP FOR A CYCLE ADVENTURE

Winter Garden and the West Orange Trail

January 9-11

Winter Garden is a town MADE for cyclists. Whether you go 1 mile or 10, there’s a million things to do in this picturesque town. Let is know if you’re interested in this weekend get-way. We’ve had an incredible response! Ridding is at all levels…fast or meander…electric or pedal…or hang out in one of the cool restaurants or bars! Possible side trip to Mt. Dora!! Block rooms will be available if you want to spend the night and enjoy one of the many fine restaurants in the area. Trip Leader Brigitte Valente!!!! Rentals will be available. Our recon team is going up in the next couple of weeks to work out details!!! We can transport your bike if it doesn’t fit in your Lamborghini!!!  Get on our newsletter mailing list by contacting me at DrGrayhills@gmail.com

Saturday, January 10th:  Group departs for a 5 mile trek from Kilarney Station at 10am(see Google Maps).  There is plenty of free parking.  If you’d like to rent a bike, contact Bikes and Blades at Kilarney Station in advance of the trip.  They can be reached at 407-877-0600 or www.orlandobikerental.com.  The bike trail is paved the entire way, but you can rent a street bike, cruiser or e-bike.  Prices are reasonable and listed on their web site.  We’ll stop along the way to Winter Garden at the Oakland Nature Preserve, the West Orange Art and Heritage Center and the Butterfly Garden.  We’ll lunch / brunch in Winter Garden and get an opportunity to visit and explore this picturesque town before cycling back.

Saturday night we’ll travel 30 miles by car to Mount Dora and witness the wonderland of lights that was featured on the Today Show.  It’s a good idea to spend the night back in Winter Garden unless  you don’t mind the drive back home on Sunday.
